Mill museum

In the original griding room you can see mill machines from 1926 and also the older uniques, grinding stones, a fountain with the turbine and mill-race. You will learn about milling grain, miller´s trade and history of Chadim´s mill.


Visits from the May 1st to September 31st:  Tuesday – Saturday 10 AM – 4 PM (every hour) 

Entrance fee: adult 80,-Kč and children 40,-Kč

Mill's history:

1451  the first reference to „desolate mill below Dubenky“ in the Moravian homeland study
1600 called Tobiáš´s mill
1624 Jan Křenek bought the mill from Jan Říha
1644 Matěj Chadim bought the mill for 510 threescores. Since that time several (cca 11) generations of Chadim´s changed for
7.8.1889 Marking of height position of the mill, pond and saw-mill No.33 by c.k. county supervisor in Dačice
5.10.1922 purchase of suction gas-engine /15 470Kč/
1926 fire of the mill
20.9.1926 agreement with company Prokop on the delivery of machines to burnt out mill
1933 end of the bakery
14. 9.1948 from 11 AM to 12 AM made a registration about taking over the manufactory by national administration
1.9.1953 the mill was gaged effective immediately, staying as a reserve along with storage premises according to the action of county national council in Třešť
1.8.1995 land registry transmitted the last part to heritors in restitution

In the time of haymaking and aftergrassing is the visit guidless.

The museum is a member of Museums and Galleries ČR Association, Miller and Baker ČR Associations and Circle of Friends of Technical Museum in Brno – section Windmills, A contributor to the extensive site http://vodnimlyny.cz/

Exhibition: thematic exhibition with a lecture within the Festival of Handicrafts and Religion Greenway takes place every year.
